3D barrier coating is a plasma coating process that involves depositing an extremely thin, highly flexible layer of SiOx on three-dimensional objects. 3D coating is the perfect solution for injection molded and thermoformed packaging in the food, pharma, cosmetics and chemicals industries. An extremely thin (~ 100 nm), highly flexible SiOx layer is deposited on injection molded packaging and parts of various shapes and sizes. This provides packaging elements made of standard monomaterials (e.g. PP) with an excellent barrier function.
